GB Gate Valves are manufactured in accordance with Chinese national standards (GB/T series). They are widely used in water supply, heating, power plants, petrochemical and general industrial pipelines for on‑off control of media. Suitable for medium‑low pressure working conditions, they feature cost‑effectiveness and stable performance, popular in domestic projects and overseas markets adopting Chinese standards.
Gate valves are one of the most fundamental valves in industrial pipeline systems, primarily responsible for controlling the flow of media. With their low flow resistance, high sealing performance, and adaptability to high-pressure and high-temperature conditions, they are crucial for the safe operation of processes across multiple industries.
Core Advantages:
● Extremely low flow resistance, resulting in significant energy savings;
● Reliable sealing performance, suitable for high-pressure and high-temperature conditions;
● Bidirectional flow, with no restriction on media flow direction;
● Simple structure, low maintenance costs, and long service life.
I. Core Functions and Roles
1) Media Flow Control (Main Function) Gate valves achieve full-open/full-close control through the vertical movement of the gate, without throttling or regulating functions. When fully open, the flow path is straight with near-zero resistance, reducing energy consumption during transport; when fully closed, zero-leakage shut-off is achieved through hard or elastic seals, preventing backflow and leakage.
2) Low Flow Resistance for Long-Distance Transport The straight-through flow path design ensures almost no pressure loss when the fluid is fully open, making it particularly suitable for long-distance pipelines carrying media such as crude oil, natural gas, and industrial water, significantly reducing transport energy consumption and system pressure drop. 3) High Pressure and High Temperature Compatibility: Gate valves made of cast steel/alloy steel (such as WCB) can withstand high pressure (up to Class 2500 and above) and high temperature (up to 550℃ and above), making them suitable for extreme conditions such as power plant boiler feedwater and hydrocracking in oil refining units.
4) Safety Isolation and Maintenance Assurance: As a "safety disconnection point" in the pipeline system, they quickly cut off the medium during equipment maintenance and accident handling, achieving physical isolation between upstream and downstream pipelines and preventing medium leakage or accident escalation.
